Byway Xplorers was launched in January 2020 by GLASS Area Rep John, the previous founder of successful Wales & Wye Laning Group (WWL) since 2008.

BX are a small responsible, active, and primarily none extreme user group based across Mid & West Wales and the Wye Valley, with a mix of 30 members and TreadLightly volunteers.

Our aim is to promote safe and sensible driving in the countryside and put something back when we can, via our volunteer efforts.

Our aim

Is to cater for all Land Rover or other 4x4 members primarily in Monmouthshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion & Powys, and arrange friendly group outings throughout various other areas such as South Wales or the South West. The main focus will be slow and steady green laning "get together" days for other owners, using the diminishing public off road byways in the west & mid wales regions.

BX is a members only club, with group trips lead mainly by experienced laners. The group also operates further east to the borders of England & Wales and throughout the mid/southern & western areas of Wales, aswell as into Gloucestershire, Herefordshire & Shropshire.

We are GLASS affiliated and all trips are checked for legalities.

Laning trips

We will be aiming to organise at least one group green laning outing per month in 2020 .

We do not cater for Motocross bikes, Quads or other ATV's as there were already many similar forums and clubs that cater for these disciplines within Wales already, You may wish to contact the TRF for your motorcycle related enquiries.

Making the outdoors accessible

Byway Xplorers is not a large group or business, and don't charge for driving your own vehicles along public rights of way. All vehicles are road legal.

Our events operate via a closed Facebook group only. We currently have a limit of 30 active members throughout Wales and the surrounding counties.
